ABS Carrying Cases
Variable Depth

High Impact ABS

The case depth is determined by the combined depth of the thermoformed top and bottom or can be adjusted by utilizing our exclusive variable-depth concept. The Variable-Depth method of case construction is unique in it's field. It is the result of many years of striving to achieve an efficient process for manufacturing a heavy-duty, durable case. The Variable-Depth concept utilizes a shallow-drawn vacuum formed top and bottom with a variable riser-section permanently bonded to the bottom and joined to the top by means of an aluminum valance, hinges, and latches. All cases, standard or custom, can be fitted with a customized interior of either die-cut or convoluted polyurethane or polyethylene foam, rigid mounting plates, or other internal part-positioning devices required to protect and cushion the most delicate instrument against shock and breakage.

Without the usual problems associated with deep-drawn thermoformed containers, such as thin side walls, excessive taper or draft requirements, and expensive forming molds, the Variable-Depth concept provides many distinct advantages as:

  • Uniform wall thicknesses.
  • Economical tooling for non-standard sizes. Overall case depths available in any increment up to 30.
  • Straight side walls, no draft required.
  • Can be produced economically in large or small quantities.
  • Standard tooling concept alleviates long lead-times required for deep-drawn tooling. Tremendous flexibility of design and function.
