With the added support in the form of exterior ribs to the well built corners, the Pelican™ 1640 case was made to be shipped.

Pelican™ 1640 Case is waterproof, dustproof and crushproof.

Up to 22” square items can be shipped easily in Divider Set>Pelican™ 1640 case.  Effortlessly carry those uniquely shaped items such as crafting supplies with those awkward 12 x 12 sheets of paper or card stock.  The Pelican™ 1640 case is watertight, crush proof and dust proof with easy open double throw latches and stainless steel padlock protectors.  Protect your items from high impact vibrations or trauma with the high density foam or padded dividers which are an option for the 1640 case. Take the Pelican™ 1640 case anywhere with its retractable extension handle, two heavy duty fold down carrying handles and four strong 2” polyurethane wheels. The Pelican™ 1640 case is tested to MIL C-4150J (Military Standard), IP-67 (Ingress Protection) and ATA (Air Transportation Association).   1. Q What is the maximum weight of an item that can be put into this case? answer now

    Answered by the admin

    According to the Pelican™ Engineering Department, the weight actually depends on the handle and its tensile strength.  Smaller case handles are approved up to 50 lbs and larger case handles such as this are approved up to 100 lbs. In the unique situation lifting handles are not required then the maximum wight capacity of the case can increase. However there is no documented data past 100 lbs that we are aware of.
